About Us
After-School All-Stars is one of the country’s largest nonprofit organizations working to close the opportunity gap for low-income youth. Our mission is to provide year-round comprehensive programs that keep children safe and help them succeed in school and life. Founded in 2013, our chapter reaches more than 500 students at 6 sites across Washington, D.C.
Peer Mentorship
At ASAS Washington, D.C., we are creating a powerful support system for All-Stars by weaving together our mentorship and Youth Advisory Board (YAB) programs.
Under the leadership of Mentor Coordinator Brian Allen, this growing network of students and trusted adults is helping young people build confidence, develop leadership skills, and navigate life’s challenges with resilience.

Playing with a Purpose
On May 13, we hosted our third annual “Play With A Purpose” Field Day Fundraiser at Atlas Brew Works Bridge District. Thanks to our incredible corporate sponsors, Advisory Board members, and individual supporters, we raised over $89,000 in support of afterschool. We had a wonderful evening of team building, laughter and friendly competition through trivia, relay races, cup stacking competitions, and more. The highlight of the night was hearing firsthand from an All-Star and YAB alum on the impact of ASAS programs. Thank you to all who participated, and we look forward to even more fun next year!
