ASAS Receives $2 Million Gift from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce
After-School All-Stars is honored to announce a transformative $2 million gift from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, expanding life-changing after-school and summer programs for young people.
The gift will directly strengthen ASAS’ Cleveland and New York chapters, ensuring more students have access to safe spaces, caring mentors, academic support, enrichment opportunities, and health and wellness programming during the critical hours after school.
Program Spotlight:
Workforce Readiness
We recently launched an innovative workforce readiness program for our high school students. Participants learn and hone the skills necessary to successfully enter the workforce and receive hands-on career training opportunities with VR software and headsets.
In the classroom, students craft resumes, conduct practice interviews, and learn how to effectively manage their finances.
Student Spotlight:
Meet Demari
Demari is a ninth-grade student in our workforce readiness program. Last summer, he attended a field trip to Motogo, a partnering nonprofit that teaches STEAM and problem solving through hands-on work with motorcycles. Demari is naturally shy, but he became energized and enthusiastic during his time at Motogo. He quickly understood the instructions and basic concepts that were introduced, and he even went from group to group to assist struggling classmates. Now Demari is considering a career as an automotive service technician, something he had never considered before.
