Program Spotlight: “Echoes of the Neighborhood” Documentary Project

With the generous support of the Capitol Hill Community Foundation, ASAS students at Stuart-Hobson Middle School will research, produce, and edit a documentary on the rich history and vibrant culture of the Capitol Hill neighborhood. The project is student-led with our AmeriCorps member and accomplished filmmaker, Zuri McCurty, overseeing the project and providing instruction.

Our Schools

All-Star students participate in classes and activities that develop their skills, motivate their desire for mastery, and increase their levels of engagement. Research shows that a combination of academics, enrichment activities, and healthy lifestyles improve student achievement.

Every site provides academic support and tutoring, hands-on learning activities that reinforce school lessons, fitness and sports activities, and enrichment activities like art, music, dance, cooking, gardening, SEL, mentoring, and environmental justice.
