Recently, in an intense scrimmage match, the basketball hoops on campus were damaged. With no funds to repair the hoops, the school’s opportunities for physical activity significantly decreased. Through a Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation grant, ASAS Cleveland will replace the basketball hoops.

MEET JAHMEL
Jahmel Banks, Case Elementary Middle School All-Star, was invited to attend ASLU as a first time YABBIE. He wasn’t sure what to expect, but he was excited to meet other All-Star students from across the country. Jahmel made friends from the start and participated fully in each seminar, especially during the Project We class.

LEADERSHIP HIGHLIGHT
Traci L. Jadlos
Prior to accepting the role as Executive Director for After-School All-Stars in Cleveland, Ohio, Traci L. Jadlos served as the Vice President of Community Impact, 2-1-1 and Engagement, as well as, the Director of Corporate Engagement in three United Ways in Ohio. Traci has over 19 years of direct program experience in the field of adolescent development, program delivery and community mobilization.
After serving 2-years as a United Way Volunteer, Traci began her 11-year career with United Way in 2006. Traci served on the U.S. Task Force 2.0 for UWW Economic Model and Growth, was an active member of the Education Mobilization Cohort and the Graduation Partnership, served on the planning committee for the 2013 SLC Conference and has offered her time for numerous local United Way and State UW network trainings on work that advances and integrates local communities in the areas of Education, Income, and Health.
Before her career at United Way, Traci was an Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist II, and served under two mayors as the Youth Commission Director for the City of Toledo, facilitated five years of community mobilization specific to youth services through the Lucas County Community Partnership, spent two years working for the Superintendent of Lucas County Schools, and directed youth programming for over ten years.
In 2012, Traci was recognized by both the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio as one of 100 Women of Influence and the City Council of Toledo for the positive impact she made in the Toledo community. In 2016, Traci completed the United Way Worldwide Advance Leadership Program for CEOs. Traci is an avid follower of the Public Health Model for community change, as well as, the Risk and Protective Factor philosophy.
Born in Fremont, Ohio, Traci moved to Toledo in 1982 were she graduated from Sylvania Southview and went on to attend the University of Toledo and University of Toledo College of Law.
Traci moved to the Cleveland area in January of 2013, serving the community as a 14U Girls Softball Coach; proudly placing second in the NRBB League Championship. She also currently serves as the vice-chair for the FBI Citizens Academy Foundation Board – Cleveland Chapter. She resides in North Royalton with her family, where she can be found spending the weekends with her three children at the ballpark, golf course or hockey rink.
