ASAS HEALTHY ADVENTURE WITH MONDELEZ INTERNATIONAL

Mondelez International Foundation is committed to helping ASAS instill life-long healthy habits. One of the best ways is to instill these habits begins with a sense of culinary adventurousness. Enter kale…
Sautéed with olive oil and a dash of lemon juice to brighten things up, kale has been the dark horse on the ASAS culinary scene. Trepidation is quickly replaced with delight as students discover the pleasures of fresh produce expertly prepared.

LEADERSHIP HIGHLIGHT

Cameron Nelson, Executive Director

Cameron Nelson has been serving in and around the nonprofit sector for over 15 years. Her career began in the Community Relations Department for the newly formed Charlotte Bobcats (NBA) franchise where she coordinated community outreach events. This role gave Cameron her foundation as an event planner, and first-hand exposure to the impact professional athletes have on youth.  From there, Cameron went on to work for both the NCAA and the Indiana Pacers.

Wanting to broaden her impact, Cameron founded C2 Management, an event and nonprofit management consulting practice which specialized in helping start-up and smaller organizations meet their fundraising needs. She then joined international nonprofit consulting firm CCS where she managed large-scale capital campaigns across the Midwest.

Most recently, Cameron served as Director of Advancement for Concordia Place, a human service agency located in Chicago. In her role, she oversaw organizational fundraising and communications; ultimately leading to a capital campaign that launched Concordia Day, a social enterprise that supports the Concordia Place mission.

Originally from Tennessee, Cameron now calls Chicago home. She is excited to bring her varied background and experiences to After-School All- Stars and looks forward to using her skills as “dot-connector” to help the chapter grow. Cameron received a BS from University of Tennessee and a Masters in Public Affairs from Indiana University—Purdue University, Indianapolis.
