Mark Madgett is the Executive Vice President of New York Life’s career agency distribution system, which comprises approximately 12,000 Agents affiliated with 119 General Offices across the country, as well as the business units that provide strategy and support for our Agents and field managers. He is a member of New York Life’s Executive Management Committee, which assists the CEO in setting policy for the company.
Mark joined New York Life as an Agent in 1986. He entered management in 1992 and became Managing Partner of the Seattle General Office in 1998. Under his leadership, the Seattle General Office grew to become one of the strongest agencies in the Company and a perpetual leader in Agent retention, among other areas. As a Managing Partner, Mark was a widely acknowledged leader among his peers and was twice elected to serve as Chair of the Managing Partners Advisory Council and to represent field management on a number of important projects and pilot programs. He is a Lifetime Member of the Partner’s Round Table.
Mark joined the Home Office leadership team and was named Senior Vice President in September 2014 and assumed leadership of the Agency Department on January 1, 2016.
Mark has a degree in business from St. Mary’s College in California, where he now serves on the Board of Trustees. He previously served on the board of the Moyer Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports children and teens who are grieving a loss. He and his wife Lizanne reside in Westchester County in New York. They have two grown children, Sean and Meaghan.
