Celebrating the Leaders Behind the Impact

Behind every student success story at After-School All-Stars are leaders who inspire, innovate, and guide. Across the communities we serve, our team brings vision and dedication that transforms learning, builds confidence, and opens doors to new opportunities for students.

The dedication and leadership of two All-Star team members are gaining well-deserved national recognition.

Guadalupe Hernandez (ASAS North Texas) and Alexandria Wong (ASAS Puget Sound) have been named National Afterschool Association’s 2026 Next Generation of Afterschool Leaders — two of only 30 honorees nationwide. This recognition celebrates emerging professionals who are shaping the future of after-school programs and empowering students every day.

Lupe Hernandez is a Program Coordinator with ASAS North Texas and brings 10 years of experience in youth development and education. She led the pilot and full-scale launch of the Rising Star Mentorship Cohorts and expanded the program’s reach with Family Stipends, engaging families through events and resources. In her third year with ASAS, she continues to innovate programming with a strong focus on social-emotional development.

Alexandria Wong is the Program and Mentor Coordinator for ASAS Puget Sound. With a Master’s in Sociology and a background in education research, Aly coordinates mentorship experiences that focus on community engagement, career exploration, and personal growth. She joined ASAS in November 2024 and is honored to be recognized as one of NAA’s 2026 Next Generation Leaders.

We are proud to celebrate these leaders and the work they do to empower students, strengthen communities, and inspire the next generation of All-Stars.
