To kick off another year of work and support, the ASAS DC Board met for a Board Retreat, hosted by Excella at the Navy League Building and facilitated by Matt Gayer and Chiara Frechette from Spur Local.
The Board discussed support for the chapter, reflected on last year’s Board goals, and set new targets for the upcoming year. Previously set priorities around staff development, expansion and quality, program improvement and stabilization, funding and sustainability and Board engagement were examined.
Considerable work was done last year, and a lot was accomplished. The ASAS DC Board is extremely engaged and their personal giving and fundraising represent about 10% of the chapter’s revenue. In addition, the Board is a true thought partner and support for the Executive Director.
The Board also welcomes a new member: Mohamed Hersi. Mohamed joined the Board recently, after being an ASAS DC chapter supporter for several years as an event sponsor. He is the Principal and Co-Founder of ACI Solutions. Welcome, Mohamed!
