Last Friday, our All-Stars visited Lacy Oasis, a campground near Chesapeake Beach in Culvert County. Sponsored by a grant from the Department of Energy and Environment managed by the Chesapeake Bay Trust, this kick-off activity introduced students to the outdoors.
Students learned how to build a campfire safely to protect natural resources, and learned about earthworms and water sources, pitched a tent as a team, went on a scavenger hunt to find edible mushrooms and herbs, and participated in a workshop on the effect of the outdoors on mental health!
