All Stars Hit the Ice

More than 70 students from After-School All-Stars Puget Sound recently laced up their skates for an unforgettable day at the Kraken Community Iceplex.

Through ASAS’s ongoing partnership with the Seattle Kraken and the Tide Pool program presented by WaFd Bank, students have had the opportunity to experience professional hockey in exciting new ways. In addition to attending Kraken games throughout the year, the One Roof Foundation helps make this annual ice skating field trip possible by providing free skate rentals and access to a private arena for the event.

For many students, the trip is their first time on the ice. With support from staff and volunteers, they spend the day learning new skills, building confidence, and enjoying the excitement of trying something completely new.

Now a tradition that has taken place for several years, the Iceplex field trip continues to introduce students to a sport they might not otherwise experience while creating lasting memories and strengthening community connections.
