Back to School season is in full swing! Check out what Back to School looks like across the country:
ASAS Tampa Bay welcomed students at three program sites. At Cristo Rey High School, our students will learn about career readiness, which includes programming about basic finances, resume writing, public speaking, entrepreneurship, and more. At Pepin, Tampa’s site for students with special needs, we kicked off with mind and body wellness (yoga, meditation, mindfulness and identification of feelings and emotions), social emotional learning (SEL), the arts, fitness/team sports, STEM, goal setting, academic success, and college and career readiness. Our energetic Tampa staff are eager to build relationships, provide a safe place for students, and foster academic and emotional growth this year.
ASAS Columbus and ASAS Toledo’s footprint has expanded. This year, in addition to serving students and families in schools, we are also partnering with the Housing Authority to serve their young people. Our Mentorship Program, which pairs 5th – 8th grade students with first responders, is coming after a very successful pilot program last year. A big thank you to Football Parents at Ohio State, CedarCreek Church, Syneos Health, and Walmart for donating backpacks filled with school supplies. Thank you as well to the Center of Science and Industry for the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) enrichment kits which will inspire our students.
Across the country, our staff can’t wait to greet our bright students – we are so honored to serve them this year!
