On June 1, we hosted our first “Positive Action Olympics” at All-Star sites across Philly and Camden in celebration of a rewarding school year. ASAS students teamed up for Olympics-style challenges, as well as activities related to social-emotional well-being. Positive Action is an evidence based SEL curriculum founded in the philosophy that we feel good about ourselves when we do positive actions.
Games and activities were designed to encourage teamwork and promote positive communication between participants. In addition to their Olympic medals, each student received a backpack full of great All-Star gear: t-shirts, water bottles, wrist bands, and—most importantly—a journal with creative prompts to record daily moods, emotions, and feelings.
